JT Counselling Services

Counselling is a safe space for you to explore any issues that are worrying you. It is time set aside by you and your counsellor to discuss any matters that are concerning you.  You might talk about significant life events, relationships with people in your life, your feelings and emotions, ways that you think about things and patterns of behaviour. It is a relationship with a professional who is experienced and trained at listening empathically and without judgment.

Counselling is a therapeutic and psychological approach to exploring your issues. It can be a challenging process at times as you talk through some emotionally charged issues. A range of feelings can come up during the counselling process which are not always easy to hold. It can ultimately be an affirming and clarifying experience. Through counselling, you may deepen your understanding of different aspects of your life as well as yourself. This can help you to grow to understand and accept yourself more. It can then help you make more informed choices about your life.

Some people might handle their problems by talking to friends, family or colleagues. For others, they might search on the internet for information about the things that concern them. However, there are times when coping may become very difficult and it makes sense to seek the support of a trained counsellor. The reasons people seek the help of a counsellor are varied and you may relate to one or some of the issues that I have worked through with clients:

  • Relationships
  • Trauma
  • Personal identity
  • Sexuality (LGBT)

  • Bullying
  • Eating concerns
